13th ranked lightweight Vicente Escobedo (24-3, 14 KOs) takes on Lonnie Smith (14-2-2, 10 KOs) Saturday at the Woodland Community Senior Center in Woodland, California in a ten-round super featherweight bout.

Escobedo, who beat Rocky Juarez via unanimous decision last year in his first bout as a super featherweight, is best known for lightweight losses to Michael Katsidis (SD 12) and Robert Guerrero (UD 10) as well as wins over faded veterans, Kevin Kelley and Carlos “Famoso” Hernandez.

Escobedo-Smith will be broadcast on Telefutura.

Smith, 24, has never fought past the six-round limit and boasts a limited resume with a unanimous decision win over David Rodela as his biggest fight to date.
