With both fighters desperately needing a win, Nate Campbell (34-9-1, 25 KOs) and Victory Manuel Cayo (27-2, 19 KOs) will hook up for a ten-round junior welterweight contest in Cayo’s hometown of Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic Saturday night at the Palacio de Deportes.

For the 40-year-old Campbell, loser in four of his last five bouts, a win is a must if he wants to keep even the slightest glimmer of hope for a career resurgence. In his last bout, Campbell dropped a six-round technical decision to Russia’s Khabib Allakhverdiev. “The Galaxxy Warrior’s” last significant victory came in 2009 when he scored a close majority decision win over against Ali Funeka.

The 27-year-old Cayo has been a fringe contender since 2009 when he scored a unanimous decision victory over Julio Diaz. Since then, the boxer has scored a handful of marginal wins, but has been stopped by both Marcos Maidana and Lamont Peterson.
