Powerful advisor/manager Al Haymon has already assembled the largest stable of talent the sport has ever seen, but the guiding light behind the Floyd Mayweather empire has added yet two more fighters to his ever-growing collection: Puerto Rico’s unbeaten former Olympian and junior middleweight/middleweight contender Jonathan Gonzalez (18-0-1, 14 KOs) and Mexico’s unbeaten junior featherweight/featherweight prospect, Jorge Lara (25-0-1, 17 KOs).
Gonzalez and Lara join a stable that includes Mayweather, Deontay Wilder, Adonis Stevenson, Adrien Broner, Danny Garcia, Lucas Matthysse, Peter Quillin, Amir Khan, Marcos Maidana, Leo Santa Cruz, Keith Thurman, Shawn Porter, and, literally, dozens more.
The boxing world is full of speculation as to why Haymon has been engaged in such a massive talent grab in recent months and whether his unofficial role as advisor will someday soon become more official.
