WBO junior middleweight champion, Demetrius Andrade (21-0, 14 KOs) has decided that the grass will be greener on the Showtime side of the Premium Channel War.
Fighting his last two bouts on HBO, Andrade was reportedly pursuing a bigger, more lucrative deal than HBO was willing to offer, according to ESPN’s Dan Rafael.
After backing out of the idea of a move to middleweight against Matt Korobov due to monetary reasons and receiving no firm promise of a clash with incoming Saul “Canelo” Alvarez, the talented 26-year-old decided it may be time to make the network switch.
Andrade is scheduled to make his Showtime debut December 6 or 13 and is tentatively scheduled to defend his belt against one of the Charlo twins, Jermell or Jermall.
