What’s Next for Jermain Taylor?

Against the odds and against the best wishes of many concerned fight fans, Jermain Taylor pulled off the upset Wednesday night and defeated defending IBF middleweight titlist, Sam Soliman.

The title fight, broadcast by ESPN2, was hardly a boxing classic as a stiff, mechanical, and at times hesitant Taylor defeated a Soliman who was, pretty much literally, a one-legged fighter from the seventh round onward.

But Taylor did get the unanimous decision and, with that, the belt. So, now it’s time to figure out what to do next with a world champ who has a pending court date for shooting his cousin, a history of bleeding on the brain, and a recent penchant for some odd, erratic behavior.

Here are the four realistic options Jermain Taylor has as he advances with his career, IBF title belt in his possession:
