Croatian amateur boxer Vido Loncar has been banned for life after attacking a referee following a loss at the European Youth Championships. The Polish official was assaulted with close to 12 unanswered punches after stopping the light heavyweight contest in favor of Lithuanian Algirdas Baniulis, decision that Loncar obviously disdagreed with.
Following the attack, Loncar was taken by officials and handed over to thye police. He was arrested and currently sits in jail. The referee is hospitalized with a concussion. It is also being reported that Loncar has issued death threats towards the official.
