Breaking News: Chris Morris of Rocky Mountain Boxing has just informed The Boxing Tribune that local Welterweight, Manny Perez, will face Victor Ortiz on the undercard of Amir Khan-Devon Alexander on December 13.

Perez recently defeated Cesar Holguin for the vacant UBF Welterweight Title. It was a beautiful, one sided performance. Perez is currently riding a two-fight winning streak

Ortiz on the other hand, is on a three-fight losing streak. After suffering back to back to losses to Floyd Mayweather and Josesito Lopez, Ortiz took some time away to participate in Dancing With The Stars and film a movie with Sly Stallone, Expendables 3. He then came back, only to be stopped in the second round by Luis Collazo.

Although contracts haven’t been signed, both parties have agreed in principal. Eric Gomez, matchmaker of Golden Boy, confirmed that Ortiz has accepted Perez as his opponent.

It’s a crossroads bout for both fighters as the loser will face the daunting question of hanging up the gloves. The bout is slated for Dec. 13 in Las Vegas, NV as part of Golden Boys triple header on Showtime Boxing.
