Broner Cruises Past Molina in PBC Opener

It probably wasn’t the best way to open the first NBC boxing program in 30 years, but it worked out just fine for Adrien Broner (30-1, 22 KO’s). The former three-division world champion cruised to a 12 round unanimous decision over John Molina (27-6, 22 KO’s) in tonight’s opening contest of NBC’s Premier Boxing Champions program.

With exception of one round, Broner controlled the contest, his speed and technical advantages evident throughout the contest. Molina roughed things up in the third frame, landing some big shots, but they had little effect on “The Problem”, who came out the following round, undeterred and controlled the remainder of the bout.

Final scores came in at 120-108 twice and 118-110 all for Adrien Broner, whose ringside post fight interview was matched with a chorus of boos from the crowd. “I’m still beautiful at the end of the fight” he said.
