When boxing is at its best, it rises above the stifling politics and maddening business decisions keeping it down. There’s nothing better than an evenly-matched bout between fighters, desperate for the win, who can and will execute at an elite level.
The pieces fall into place less and less frequently these days, but when they do, the magic is still there.
And this Saturday, November 21, there will be magic at the Mandalay Bay in Las Vegas, Nevada as Miguel Cotto takes on Saul “Canelo” Alvarez in what promises to be the most evenly-matched major pay-per-view main event since…well, I honestly can’t remember the last time we got one of those.
