About
Greetings Fight Fans,
It’s no secret to boxing fans that the state of boxing journalism is very poor these days. Most of the major media sources are actually making a lion’s share of their revenue from the promotional companies and networks they cover…This is not the ideal recipe for a fair and objective media. Blogs spring up daily; some good, some horrendous, but all with an obvious editorial slant. There seems to be an ever-shrinking number of sites and writers who are NOT on the take or aren’t hoping to someday be on the take.
The Boxing Tribune believes that a strong and independent press is a key factor in reforming the sport and we aspire to be a home for non-partisan journalism whose only objective is the truth and whose only enemies are those who harm the sport of boxing.
The Boxing Tribune is driven by hardcore fans who are not trying to network themselves into big money, high profile writing jobs; It is not made up of fan club members looking to push a certain fighter’s agenda and it is not a place for the spin jobs that often pass for truth these days.
In other words…We are not for sale.
And,while we will defiantly and proudly speak out as loud as we possibly can, we make these promises to you:
1) Our news coverage will be 100% free of editorial opinion and bias.
and
2) Our opinion pieces will be coming straight from the heart and with no ulterior motive other than to communicate the truth as we believe it.
If you share our motivation and our mission and would like to write for us, send an email for details here: paulmagno@theboxingtribune.com.
If you’d like to join our Facebook campaign against boxing’s sanctioning bodies, look here: www.facebook.com/boxing.reform
Here’s to a bright tomorrow and the honorable hard work needed to get there.
WETSU,
Paul Magno, Editor in Chief
