Alfonso Gomez had to pull out of his scheduled, December 4th pay per view bout against Julio Cesar Chavez jr. due to a torn ligament in his left elbow.

Pawel Wolak (21-1, 17 KOs), who was scheduled to fight on a Decmber 16th Top Rank card, will replace Gomez.

Wolak’s biggest fight to date has been a unanimous decision loss to Ishe Smith back in August of 2008. He holds noteworthy victories over Troy Browning (UD 10), Norbert Bravo (TKO 3), and James Moore (UD 10).

Chavez Jr. (41-0-1, 30 KOs) will be coming into this fight after the most significant win of his career, a UD win over Ireland’s John Duddy in June of this year.
