The BTBC fan forum is boxing’s first 100% troll-free message board and the home of some of the internet’s sharpest hardcore fans. Today we spotlight forum member, Littleman370, as he shares his 5 Favorite Boxing Moments:
1) Micky Ward W10 Arturo Gatti. Round 9 might be the greatest 3 minutes of pugilism I’ve ever seen, or perhaps will see. The whole fight gives me chills to watch and puts a smile on my face like nothing else.
2) Roy Jones Jr’s knockout of I think Glenn Kelly… Jones is dominating the wildly overmatched kelly, then proceeds to put his hands behind his back, duck 3 shots, and knock Kelly down and out. Speed kills like nothing else, and Jones was the fastest.
3) Israel Vazquez-Rafael Marquez III, when Marquez hits the deck in the 12th. Since I pretend that the 4th fight didn’t happen, I see this is as one of the best conclusions to one of the greatest trilogies of all time. So much drama. I can’t even really put it to words well enough.
4) This might have happened in a lot of Tapia fights (I forget the particular one I’m referencing): the action heats up and things get a little dirty on the inside and while his head is being held down Tapia starts waving his arms all around to rile up the crowd. Tapia made me realize the little guys have so, so much to offer.
5) Corrales-Castillo Round 10. For some reason when watching the fight I had mentally made Castillo into the bad guy, so to see him knockdown Chico twice was devastating. But it was so sweet when Chico got up to pummel Castillo.
