Citing a hand injury suffered in training, former jr. middleweight world champion, Winky Wright, has pulled out of his April 9th middleweight contest with the UK’s Matthew Macklin.
Wright-Macklin was to play support to the Marcos Maidana-Erik Morales pay-per-view main event and would’ve been Wright’s first bout since losing to Paul Williams in April, 2009. The bout also would’ve marked Matthew Macklin’s Golden Boy debut and first real chance at a high profile bout in the US.
A replacement has yet to be named.
