Peter “Kid Chocolate” Quillin (24-0, 18 KOs) walked into Jesse Brinkley’s (35-6, 22 KOs) home town of Reno, Nevada and came away with a dominant three-round TKO victory over the former world title challenger Friday night.
Qullin established his dominance in the first round by stunning Brinkley with a shot to the side of the head that sent the former cast member of The Contender reality series reeling into the ropes. Brinkley was able to regain his composure and finish the round, but Quillin’s overall dominance had been established in the first serious punch landed of the night.
After an uneventful second round, Quillin managed to stun Brinkley again in the third and eventually put an end to the contest with a series of strong right hands to the head of his opponent.
On the undercard, lightweight Lonnie Smith (13-2-2, 9 KOs) won a six round unanimous decision over David Rodela (15-4-4, 6 KOs). The judges’ scorecards read: 59-55, 59-55, 58-56.
