— Nonito Donaire vs. Omar Narvaez is set for October 22 in New York with Madison Square Garden being pegged as the preferred site. Donaire is the current WBC and WBO bantamweight champ while the 36-year-old Narvaez is the reigning WBO super flyweight titlist.

— Number one and number two ranked WBC junior middleweights, Vanes Martirosyan (30-0, 19 KOs) and Alfredo Angulo (20-1, 17 KOs) have been mandated to meet in what is being billed as a final elimination bout for a world title bout against reigning champ, Saul Alvarez. If no deal is reached between the two camps by September 23, the bout will be opened to purse bid.

— Newly-crowned WBA junior featherweight champ, Rico Ramos (20-0, 11 KOs) will get a tough defense right off the bat as his mandated showdown with Cuba’s former amateur star, Guillermo Rigondeaux (8-0, 6 KOs), goes to purse bid on the 12th of this month. Rigondeaux is currently the WBA’s interim titlist at junior featherweight.

— UK heavyweight prospect, Tyson Fury (15-0, 10 KOs) has settled on a September 17 opponent at Kings Hall in Belfast, Northern Ireland. Fury will be taking on Akron, Ohio journeyman, Nicolai Firtha (20-8-1, 8 KOs).
