Fernando Beltran Jr. (36-7-1, 20 KOs), the son of Mexican promoter Fernando Beltran, will step in on short notice to face undefeated Jr. lightweight Diego Magdaleno on Friday, March 23 at the Casino Del Sol in Tuscon, Arizona.

Beltran will be the third opponent for Magdaleno, who saw Eduardo Lazcano, the injury replacement for Miguel Beltran Jr., drop out this week due to injury.  Beltran represents a considerable challenge on such short notice. He has challenged for world titles twice, but fell short both times, losing to Joan Guzman and Steve Molitor. In his last outing, Beltran lost a majority decision to jr. featherweight prospect Efrain Esquivias.
